In an ideal scenario Shiv, our founder, had planned to travel to the village where our fabrics are sourced and manufacturing happens, to oversee the process herself. However, thanks to the global pandemic, that wasn't going to happen.

Fortunately, we were so lucky to engage with an advisor in New Zealand, who already had strong relationships with our chosen manufacturer, and could vouch for their commitment to their people. The areas of importance to us focus on fair pay, health and safety, no child labour, and being environmentally astute. 

Our manufacturer is based in Jiangsu, China. They are BSCI certified, and audited to the amfori BSCI standard. We asked to see their most recent audit, completed in 2021, to ensure they received a Grade A certification in fair pay, health and safety of employees, no child labour, and procedures to protect the environment. And they did!
